FAQ for EdRev Expo 2018

Do you have questions about EdRev Expo? We have answers! If you don’t find the answer to your question below, contact us at edrevhelp@chconline.org.

    1. Can I register my children for sessions?
In order to protect the privacy of minor attendees, we do not to create profiles for children under the age of 14 on the Sched app. Session content is designed for adults and older teens, so we encourage younger kids to enjoy the Student Celebration or the many other activities while you attend a workshop.
    2. My teen is interested in attending sessions. Which sessions can my teen sign up for?
Teens age 14 and above can sign up for any sessions that interest them. We recommend they check out the sessions designated as teen-friendly.
    3. How do teens age 14-17 register for sessions?
Teens who would like to register for sessions will need their own Sched profile. Sched uses an email address as the identifier for the account. Please use this link to submit your teen’s name and a unique email address. Just as with adult registrants, a Sched invitation will be emailed within 24 hours of submitting your request.
    4. What if I do not want to submit my teen’s email address or my teen doesn’t have an email address?
You can use any working email address that isn’t already in use with a Sched profile. You might consider creating a new email address (e.g., Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail) just for your teen’s Sched profile.
    5. Can my teen attend sessions alone?
You know your teen best, so we will leave that decision up to parents and guardians. You are responsible for any minors in your group.
    6. Our family will be attending EdRev Expo, and the adults want to attend the same sessions so we hear the same content—What can our children do during that time?
There are no childcare services at EdRev Expo; however, there are many activities that children and teens will enjoy. While you are attending sessions, younger children should be supervised by an adult or responsible teen. You might consider bringing a friend, family member, or a teen with you to the event to help out. Anyone you add to your group can register in advance on Eventbrite or on-site the day of the event.
    7. I am the only adult, and I am bringing children with me. How do I take advantage of sessions and still supervise my kids?
Younger children should be supervised by an adult or responsible teen. You might consider bringing a friend, family member, or a teen with you to the event to help out. Remember, EdRev Expo admission is free! You can register additional attendees prior to EdRev Expo on Eventbrite. Registration will also be open on-site on April 21.
    8. Can I bring my child/ren with me to sessions?
We want to be able to serve as many families as possible, and the meeting room space at AT&T Park is limited. We will do our best to accommodate attendees who must bring children to sessions. Our challenge is that even if a child is sitting on your lap or in the back of the room, each person in the room counts toward the maximum capacity set by the fire marshal. If we reach capacity, we will not be able to admit any more attendees, even if they have pre-registered.
    9. How do I access the workshop schedule?
The workshop schedule is accessible on your phone at edrevsf.org. You will also find access to a printable day planner there. Monitors displaying the schedule in both English and Spanish will be stationed throughout the park. If you pre-registered for sessions using Sched, you can login to access your schedule.
    10. A session that I am interested in is full. What do I do?
You can join the waitlist for that session. We will release spaces as we are able before the event, but we may not know how many seats are available for waitlisted attendees until we check in registered attendees at the session.
    11. I am on the waitlist for a workshop. When and how will I know if I can go to that session?
You will be notified by Sched if a space opens up. You can come to the session and wait at the door until registered attendees have been checked in. Any empty seats will be filled by waitlisted registrants.
    12. If I am not able to attend a session, is there a way I can access the content?
We will be posting videos of selected sessions on the CHC YouTube channel and in our Community Resource Library on the CHC website.
    13. I haven’t registered for any sessions or workshops. Can I attend a session as a walk-in?
Some sessions will be full before the event. At EdRev Expo, open seats will be made available on a first come-first served basis after registered attendees and waitlisted attendees have been checked in.
